Packing tips for South Korea
- Pack light. Trains have limited luggage space and many stations involve stairs. Big bags over 160 cm total need a reserved seat on the Tokaido/Sanyo/Kyushu KORAIL KTX & SRT High-Speed Rail — see our KORAIL KTX & SRT High-Speed Rail guide.
- Buy on arrival: toiletries, Heattech layers, umbrellas and most medicines are easy to find in South Korea.
- Medicines: some common medicines are restricted in South Korea; check the Ministry of Health rules before you fly (see our entry guide).
- Plugs: South Korea uses Type A (two flat pins) at 100V — many devices are dual-voltage, but check.
